One often hears developers complain about tech recruiters confusing Java with JavaScript, offering irrelevant vacancies, and so on. Either you’re a tech recruiter or a highly-skilled software developer, you can hardly keep pace with all of the updates that going on in the IT world every day.

Even if you’re not a beginner IT recruiter, it’s easy to get confused by EJB, JSF, JPA, or jBoss, and more importantly, be unable to refer them to the appropriate technology.

CEO and founder of IT recruitment agency Relocateme.eu Andrew Stetsenko announced the launch of GlossaryTech, a new educational project for tech recruiters.

The mission of GlossaryTech is to make complex tech definitions clear, while providing IT recruiters with a go-to guide to understanding the latest and most common terms listed in software engineers’ profiles.

“We believe that one needn’t go into programming to equally communicate with candidates for tech positions; all that is needed is a little bit of passion and the right tools,” says a co-creator and active contributor to the project.

This technology dictionary enables its users to quickly find necessary tech terms and their meanings, add new terms, edit others, print, download and share them with each other. Besides, all tech terms in the Glossary are logically divided into groups, which help speed up the process of reading developers’ CVs.

The main idea of the Glossary is its similarity to crowdsourcing platforms. To keep the Glossary relevant, it’s curated and constantly expanded by the global recruiting community, as well as software developers.

The service went public on the 1st of February and is totally free now. The next few months are designated for extending the functionality of GlossaryTech and, of course, enriching its terminology database.

Thus, this week was started with a new category “Roles in Software Development” and “Request to Add a Term” button. So, if you’re curious about any technology term, ‘order’ it and guys will find it for you.
